Insights Class
Insights classes will be held in the conference room at the Turning Pointe Administrative offices on Mondays from 12-1:30pm. Classes start every 6 weeks, but participants can begin with any class. Once the 6 classes are complete, participants will receive a certificate of completion.

The six classes cover the following:
Domestic Violence Awareness: Covers the cycle of abuse and warning signs
Affects on Family, Friends and Children: Discusses how family/friends typically feel when faced with DV of a loved one. The class also covers the physical/emotional problems that can affect children who grow up with domestic violence in the home
Chemical Dependency: Participants will learn how chemical dependency and domestic violence are different
Sadness, Anger and Depression: Covers the various emotions that can occur due to DV. As well as warning signs that warrant medical attention
Court Documentation and Ethics: Discusses the basics of protection orders, anti-harassment orders and no contact orders. Participants will also learn court ethics and how to address the judge/commissioner.
Self Care and Where to Go From Here: The last of the 6 Insights classes which is designed to help participants move forward. Self care is covered and a community resource list is given to each participant.
